Performing an interpretation of Wagner's Gotterdammerung ... third act Segfreid's funeral


in 2009 (with assistance from Experimental Sound Studios audio grant project ) Rabid Rabbit recorded a loose interpretation to Rezso Serres' Gloomy Sunday. 
Working in conjunction with several premier local improvisers, the band created a piece that embodied what they do best musically - dark, bass heavy soundscapes layered with auxilary instrumentations and vocals.

Now they are again inspired by a dark, 100 year-old canonized composition.

This project was conceived in a recent dj set by drummer Mike Tsoulos. Going back to his roots playing in legendary band Frontier and the Empty Bottle Foam sessions, Tsoulos layered multiple recordings over one another to create semi-improvised soundscapes during his set. Improbably, Wagner, the Butthole Surfers, and a 45 of static played together simultaneously inspired the challenge of recreating something similar live.
